If you've never seen the anime, i suggest watching that first. So if your considering whether to watch it or not, here is what i suggest: if you are an avid anime fan keep an open mind that there are changes to the movie. L was played really good too! I'm team L all the way, and never once was on Light's side! The acting in this was also really great! The actor who played Light was very impressive, I could see where he was coming from, and what type of personality he had easily.

I found both the anime and the movie very entertaining, and i recommend both. And this way, you're not watching the exact same thing. But what movie doesn't? Especially for anime, some things would look a little weird without changing it while doing the live action. Yes, the movie definitely changed some things from the anime. For someone like me, who only prefers romance dramas, i fell in love with this! Whether its anime or drama,I've always preferred watching romance.

Rewatch Value 7.0 First off, i will admit that I've never been much of a fan on shonen. ~~ Adapted from the manga "Death Note" (デスノート) written by Ohba Tsugumi (大場つぐみ), illustrated by Obata Takeshi (小畑健). The future of mankind is at the mercy of this fierce battle between the two brains. With L's expertise, the police are able to tighten the investigative screws over these cases, but Light, also cleverly manipulating the notebook of death, tosses and shakes the investigation. "L" is an eccentric genius who has successfully solved many cases in the past that were deemed unsolvable.

Meanwhile, the ICPO (International Criminal Police Organization) has placed a mysterious detective called "L" in the Japanese police force to investigate the series of criminal cases. Light decides to create an ideal world and begins to hold the scales to judge the criminals in his discretion. Light Yagami, an extremely bright elite university student, is the one to possess this ultimate tool that should remain only in the hands of God. The notebook displays the message: "The human whose name is written in this note shall die" It is the notebook of death that can determine when a person will die. A Shinigami (Death God) drops a notebook in the human world where a young genius picks it up. Released back in 2017, Adam Wingard’s adaptation of the Japanese manga Death Note may not have been a huge hit with critics, but it seems it was successful enough for Netflix that a sequel is in.
